About

Providence: Faith

Providence: Faith helps Christians understand the worldwide church, pray with specificity, learn, and find credible ways to serve.

Perspective

The editorial perspective is Protestant, with fair coverage of Catholic, Eastern Orthodox, Oriental Orthodox and other Christian traditions. Each source’s tradition or standpoint is shown beside it. A source’s perspective informs how we read it; it does not by itself make its reporting wrong.

We aim to be thoughtful, hopeful, biblically grounded and specific. Urgent events deserve clear reporting without fear or spectacle. We never present another religion, or any people, as an enemy.

The publications

  • The War Room: the weekly report and its readable web edition.
  • The War Room: Brief: a short companion for sharing in a church and for prayer.

A complete issue brings major news of the worldwide church with original summaries and source links; one country where Christians face pressure, with its history, church context and the evidence that is available; prayer for that country and for the worldwide church; an attributed, dated report of praise, saying what is and is not independently known; and ministries with their official links, listed without any implied partnership.

How we work

Every claim keeps its source and its date close by. What is reported, what is background, what is uncertain and what is our own reflection are labeled differently. What is not known stays visible, and nothing is invented to fill a page. Details that could identify or locate vulnerable believers are left out, even when a source includes them.
